A look at Badminton, Swimming and Table Tennis On Day 2

Day 2 was another sunny day in Scotland even if it was a tough one for the Barbadian competitors. The Badminton players were out early competing against Sri Lanka in the team competition.

badminton 26Andre Padmore lost his match 21-8, 21-7 while a heavily bandaged Mariama Eastmond lost a keenly contested match to T. Hendahewa 11-21 and 9 -21. Barbados also failed in the doubles with both the men and women sides succumbing to the Sri Lankans in straight sets.

Christopher Courtis was the only swimmer in the pool for Barbados.  He did a personal best time in the 200M Freestyle and is swimming the 50M Backstroke this morning.

table tennis 4In another team competition later in the day Kevin Farley in Table Tennis managed to win a game off New Zealand’s Phillip Xiao but finally went under 4-11, 11-6, 3 – 11. Brother, Trevor Farley, who is also acting as coach, did not fair well going under 2-11, 3-11 and 5-11. In the doubles Farley and Dowell were on the losing end of 5-11, 3-11 and 4-11 against Shane Laugesen and Phillip Xiao.
